This volume documents projects in Ikon's off-site programme from 2000-2001, featuring 22 selected projects encompassing painting, performance, video, installation and sound, and confounding expectations of where art can be seen and by whom. Many of the works were situated outside of the city centre, within the rural and regional areas of the wider West Midlands, thus offering audiences there aesthetic opportunities usually reserved only for those living and working in a sizeable metropolis.
Featured artists include Ceal Floyer, Anthony Howell, Patrick Killoran, Julian Opie, Tatsumi Orimoto, Cornelia Parker, Simon Patterson and Andrea Zittel.
