Following the success for our June 2019 Open Weekend, we have decided to run a series of drop-in Visiting Days at Lawson Park across 2020, offering members of the public, artists, would-be volunteers and our peers access to our gardens. collections and buildings (including drop-in use of the Lawson Park Library). Access is free, but - of course - donations will be gratefully received!
Members of staff will be available throughout the day for ad hoc tours, conversations and debates, and we will offer light lunches and cakes / teas (made from our own produce) for sale from our kitchen.
It's a great chance to see everyday life here and gain an insight into what a rural contemporary arts organisation does with itself, whether its preparing an exhibition or event, gardening, building, harvesting or making something out of roadkill we have found.
Visiting Days will run from 10am - 6pm. Access by foot (a 20min walk from Machell's Coppice Forestry Commission Car Park, East of Lake road LA21 8AD) or bike is strongly preferred due to our private access track, but we have car parking on a first come first served basis on site. No coaches or access outside of visiting times.
Groups of 10+ should pre-book with us at least 2 weeks in advance. We can offer private tours to groups at a small charge.
